Juneau hospital smoking ban now city law

04/24/2007

A smoking ban at Bartlett Regional Hospital in Juneau is now a city law. Anyone violating it can be fined 50 dollars by the city. The law, effective June 1st, was adopted Monday night by the Juneau Assembly. The ban became hospital policy in December.

It prohibits all smoking and use of smokeless tobacco products anywhere on the hospital campus. That includes the parking areas and the streets and sidewalks adjacent to the hospital buildings.
