Hate-laws based on junk science like this one destroy freedom in America.

I knew there was a good reason why I didn’t care for Florida. No smoking on
the beach kinda sums it all up. Government is going to far. There is no
place for personal agenda as it applies to the politicins.

Heil Hitler – you wanted it – you got it – welcome to amerika.

I have never seen any issues with people bringing thier dogs and can’t
understand why there isn’t at least a time (early morning or late evening)
that the beaches are dog friendly.

The city already has an ordinance in place against littering – why don’t
they enforce that law instead of creating another one?

Jessica, Why were you barking? I agree that dogs on the beach. Are a bigger
issue than smoking outside. I have seen many dog owners look the other way
as their dog poops in the sand where children are happily digging nearby.
Smoke to your hearts content but please pick up your poop.

May we please have desinated dog areas also on the beach. I am tired of
barking and stepping in dog poop on these 2 miles of pristine beaches.

Let’s see. In one of the four remaining states totally controlled by
Republicans, who cliam to stand against government interference in an
individual’s private life, governmental controls against smoking outside are
on the verge of being passed. Hmmmm – sounds a lot like that party’s stance
on governental fiscal restraint.

The state of Florida has more registered sex offenders than any other in the
nation except perhaps California; crime and housing costs are out of
control, little children come out of our schools practically illiterate, we
are in a losing imperialistic war in Iraq run by Big Oil, Americans are
dying by the thousands because of our chemically processed, pesticided foods
but THE ONLY THING WE CAN THINK OF DOING IS BANNING OUTDOOR SMOKING. Oh yes,
that will help change our world. For heaven’s sake.

The Delray Beach City Commission will deal with two issues – one already volatile, the other potentially so – at its Dec. 5 meeting.
Commissioners on Tuesday gave first reading to a proposal to ban smoking on sections of the municipal beach. For first reading, no public comment is allowed.
The board also called for a hearing Dec. 5 on the request of the Poor Sisters of St. Clare to sell 11 of the 15 acres of their monastery for homes.
