Brewer Now Considering Smoking Ban In Cars

The Brewer City Council is now discussing a possible ban on smoking in cars when minors are present. This after the Bangor City Council passed their own ban Monday night.
Bangor City Councilors made it illegal to smoke in a vehicle if someone under 18 is present.
Brewer City Councilors say they’re in the initial stages of discussing the idea.
Councilor Joe Ferris brought up the idea at Brewer’s council meeting Tuesday night. Ferris says he got a mixed reaction from other councilors, but says it’s definitely worth exploring.
Ferris wants to hear from people who live in Brewer. The goal is to keep kids healthy.
Ferris says the council will bring in experts to be part of the discussion, and he hopes to have the issue resolved in a few months.
