Fire Safer Cigs: CO Fire Safe Cigarettes

Colorado I’d watch my back if I were you.You just might be the next target in the legislature’s sights, to insure the health and safety of the public, of course, and if you believe that, you might want to have your doctor check to see if you still have a brain.

Thought you might be interested in what the legislature is doing

There is a bill in the legislature that will require cigarettes to be made so they are self extinquishing because two people died in a fire at a nursing home alledgedly caused by a cigarette. I have several questions about that bill.
?
How long will the law allow cigarettes to burn while they are not being smoked I wonder? And does the technology exist to make them put out themselves? Are they safe? Are they excise taxable? While it is sad indeed that two people died in that nursing home fire because the people employed to watch them were irresponsible and negligent, it is predicable the whole legislature would get it’s shorts all twisted up about it because somebody blamed a cigarette for that tragedy. But would it not be better use of their time if the legislators would focus on the lack of training and the negligence of employees in nursing homes instead of placing the blame on a cigarette. How many deaths in nursing homes are blamed on other inanimated objects due to misuse or unsupervised use of them.
?
But, the legislature is uncaring about bar’s and tavern’s responsible owners losing their ability to survive as productive, taxpaying, job providing, contributors to charities and honest and hard working citizens. Where do the legislators think owners and their employees are going to get jobs that will keep them off the public dole, not to mention their children’s and grand children’s educational opportunities to become responsible, productive citizens and the basic food, clothing and transportation needed for them to succeed in life, when the smoking ban robs them of the means to help them.
?
The Government of Colorado has created a slow but inevitable destruction of our children’s and grand children’s futures, owner’s and their employee’s livelihoods and the pride we cherish in being the owners of taxpaying businesses, which we worked very hard for years to make successful and to remain independent, non-taxpayer supported, private enterprises in a highly competitive trade, which is one definition of the American Dream. All this, caused by a smoking ban that only serves to support huge pharmaceutical companies’ special interests in replacing tobacco with non-smoke nicotine delivery devices, patches, gums, inhalers etc. that place more nicotine in your system than you would ever get from smoking, while reaping all the more greater profits their unbridled greed demands.
?
Haven’t you noticed the increased advertizing of those devices and programs in the media? They are all a production of pharmaceutical companies, don’t you know. Even the State Colorado Health Department’s STEPP division’s quit smoking web site has specific special links to their products. Hmm, government using taxpayers money to promote private pharmaceutical companies’ products, I wonder how much grant money from them the health department got for doing that!?
?
Anyway, it is increasingly obvious the world of common sense has been turned upside down. Reason and thought have been replaced by fananticism. What this country was founded on, freedom, justice and liberty, is fast becoming a tragic, bad imitation of what it was meant to be by our founding fathers. What’s next? Who knows? But, if you are a small business owner, perhaps a fast food enterprise,a doughnut shop or a soda pop and candy vending machine company, I’d watch my back if I were you.You just might be the next target in the legislature’s sights, to insure the health and safety of the public, of course, and if you believe that, you might want to have your doctor check to see if you still have a brain.
