The War on Smoking

 Fifty years ago the US surgeon general declared that cigarettes are deadly. By now, that’s a message that’s hard to ignore, with gruesome warning labels pasted on cigarette boxes.

A new Surgeon General’s report expands on that initial warning, linking it to more diseases. Even CVS won’t sell cigarettes any more. Health advocates applause the measure, but smokers say they have a right to smoke.
