CanadaFart-filled Ministry of Health anti-smoking ad hits a nerve (with video)

Do you like to fart at parties or while flirting with a potential paramour?

A new public awareness campaign from the Ontario Ministry of Health is cheekily comparing a casual cigarette in social situations to flatulence.

“It’s true that I fart but I wouldn’t call myself a farter,” a young woman says in the 53-second clip. “I’m a ‘social farter,’ I really only do it when I’m out with my friends who fart.

“We hang out, we drink, we dance, just have some fun being together, farting.

The Quit the Denial campaign targets young smokers age 18 to 29 who only smoke at parties or with friends. The campaign states: “Social farting is as ridiculous as social smoking. Social smoking is smoking.”

Another clip from the campaign has another woman expounding on how being “social ear-wax picker” is cool, sexy and sophisticated. It appears as though the message is getting through with the farting clip reaching over 360,000 YouTube views since it was uploaded at the beginning of last week.
