Kentucky Nelson County Update

IT PAYS!

?
GREAT NEWS from Nelson County, Kentucky!!!!!
?
Bardstown Kentucky is located in beautiful Nelson County where Steven Foster was inspired to write the famous song “MY OLD KENTUCKY HOME”.? It is a great place for the recent stand to protect property rights of individuals and businesses.? “The sun shines bright on my old Kentucky home” and on our individual property rights as citizens of the Commonwealth of Kentucky today!? At least in Nelson County Kentucky!
?
It pays to get involved with what your government is doing.? I just got a call from Alan Brown one of our Campaign for Liberty organizers in Nelson County.? Alan will be attending the Rally for the Republic in Minneapolis.? He and a handful of Campaign for Liberty Ron Paul supporters jumped into action less than 2 months ago when they got word of a proposed smoking ban on businesses in Nelson County.? It is well known that the proponents of smoking bans have been going county by county across Kentucky and State by State across the nation pressuring local governments to enact mandated smoking bans.
?
The smoking ban movement is very well funded in part by your tax dollars and the people pushing for the bans are very skilled and well organized to pressure local governments to enact smoking bans.? We feel it is a misuse of government force against the free market property rights of individuals and businesses and that any such ban should only be enacted by the voluntary actions by the individual or business based on the free market.? After all, smoking is not an illegal act.? Government forced smoking bans are an unwarranted assault on the liberty of free people!
?
Campaign for Liberty organizers Alan Brown and Nick Lyons jumped in to action with a handful of other supporters and they brought our side of the issue forward against all odds of success.? They got over 1200 signatures on petitions, respectfully and intelligently lobbied their local representatives on Fiscal Court, wrote letters and emails, testified several times and brought this proposed misuse of government power to the attention of enough people in Nelson County to win.
?
The result was a 4 to 2 vote this morning on Fiscal Court AGAINST the smoking ban legislation!
?
This is one of the rare wins against the smoking ban proponents in Kentucky and it was a very important win indeed.? Fortunately because of the efforts of Campaign for Liberty organizers Alan Brown and Nick Lyons Nelson County Fiscal Court did not cave in to the smoking ban proponents.
?
Thank you to Alan and Nick!? You’ve proven once again that IT PAYS to be involved!? You’ve secured a little but important bit of people’s liberty in Nelson County!? May others be inspired by your actions and success!? Yes “IT PAYS” to be involved!
?
Great job!
